I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science with a focus on Community Development. Additionally, I have completed a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and various courses in sustainable development and social impact assessment.
I am passionate about community development and creating positive social impact. With a background in social science and project management, I focus on managing initiatives that drive sustainable growth and improve the well-being of communities. My work involves collaborating with stakeholders, managing budgets, and ensuring projects meet their objectives while benefiting those in need.
I am committed to inclusive development, ensuring that marginalized communities have access to the resources and opportunities necessary for growth. I enjoy working on projects that empower individuals, whether through education, healthcare, or infrastructure development. Outside of work, I’m passionate about volunteering and supporting local initiatives that align with my values of equity and social responsibility.
My career journey began with a strong interest in social impact and community development, which led me to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science. Early in my career, I worked with local NGOs where I gained hands-on experience in project planning, coordination, and community engagement. This gave me a deep understanding of the challenges communities face and the importance of sustainable development initiatives.
After a few years, I transitioned into project management to broaden my skillset and have a greater impact. I pursued a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification to formalize my expertise in managing complex projects. Since then, I’ve worked on a range of community development projects, including initiatives focused on education, healthcare access, and infrastructure improvement. My work typically involves collaborating with various stakeholders, such as government entities, private organizations, and community leaders, to ensure project success.
As I’ve advanced in my career, I’ve taken on more leadership roles, overseeing teams, managing budgets, and ensuring the sustainability of the projects I manage. The most rewarding part of my career has been seeing the tangible difference that well-executed projects can make in the lives of individuals and entire communities.
My mentorship approach focuses on empowerment, collaboration, and hands-on learning. I start by understanding my mentee’s career goals and aspirations, ensuring that the guidance I provide aligns with their unique needs. Together, we set realistic short-term and long-term objectives, which help give direction to their growth.
I believe in learning by doing, so I encourage mentees to engage in real-world projects where they can apply their skills and gain practical experience. I offer regular feedback to help refine their abilities and build confidence in their work. Along with this, I emphasize the importance of developing a problem-solving mindset, guiding them through challenges and teaching them to think critically.
Creating a supportive and open environment is key to my mentorship, where mentees feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I also stress the value of continuous learning, encouraging mentees to stay curious and adaptable as they navigate their careers. Ultimately, my goal is to help mentees become confident, independent professionals who are equipped to thrive in their chosen fields.
I prefer mentoring university students as they are at a critical stage in their careers and can benefit from practical, real-world insights. However, I’m also open to mentoring high school learners who are eager to explore career options and learn about the pathways that lead to success in commerce and community development.
I believe in flexible mentorship, whether it’s long-term guidance for mentees seeking ongoing support or short-term advice for those who have specific questions or goals. I aim to tailor my approach based on the mentee’s needs and the level of commitment they’re able to invest.
I am available for mentorship during the following times:
Weekdays: Evenings, from 5 PM to 7 PM
Saturdays: 10 AM to 1 PM
Sundays: 12 PM to 3 PM
I understand that schedules can vary, so I am flexible and open to adjusting availability as needed. Mentees can reach out in advance to arrange a suitable time for sessions.
I signed up as a mentor because I am passionate about empowering others and sharing the knowledge I’ve gained throughout my career. Having benefited from the guidance of mentors early in my own journey, I understand how valuable it is to receive real-world insights and career advice from someone with experience.
By mentoring, I aim to give back to the community, helping individuals navigate the complexities of career choices and professional growth. I believe that through sharing my experiences and expertise, I can help mentees build confidence, make informed decisions, and ultimately succeed in their careers, especially in community development and project management.
I also find mentorship rewarding because it offers the opportunity to learn from others and stay connected to emerging trends and fresh perspectives.
