Brief description of the role

As a Content Creator Intern for an online lifestyle and youth-focused magazine, I contribute to the planning, creation, and editing of digital content across various platforms. My role involves writing articles, brainstorming story ideas, helping with social media posts, and assisting with multimedia content like short videos and graphics. I get to explore current trends, interview interesting people, and help shape stories that resonate with young readers. This experience gives me real exposure to the digital publishing world and helps me grow my creative and communication skills in a fast-paced, content-driven environment.

Key responsibilities and day to day tasks of the job

As a Content Creator Intern, my main responsibility is to support the editorial and digital media team in producing engaging, youth-oriented content. On a daily basis, I research trending topics, write blog-style articles, and pitch content ideas that align with the magazine’s tone and target audience. I also assist with editing and proofreading submissions, ensuring grammar, structure, and clarity are on point before publishing.

I help manage social media accounts by creating captions, selecting visuals, and scheduling posts using tools like Canva and Buffer. Occasionally, I assist with on-the-ground interviews or virtual Q&A sessions for feature pieces. I collaborate with graphic designers and video editors to bring stories to life across different media formats, and I sometimes contribute to newsletters or help with content strategy brainstorming during team meetings.

Every day is a mix of creativity, deadlines, and learning how to balance storytelling with digital marketing techniques.

Kind of work environment (e.g Office based, remote, fieldwork etc)

The work environment is mostly remote-based, which means I do the majority of my tasks from home using my laptop and online collaboration tools like Google Docs, Zoom, and Trello. We have regular virtual check-ins with the editorial team, and most communication happens via email or chat platforms like Slack. Occasionally, I attend in-person editorial meetings or go out to cover events or interviews, depending on the story. It’s a flexible and creative environment that allows for independent work, but also requires staying organised and meeting deadlines consistently.
